Camden Lane Creative proudly announces the signing of Food Network Chopped Champion Shacafrica Simmons, also known as Chef Shac, for brand management. Chef Shac, the culinary visionary behind Chef Shac LLC, oversees several ventures, Chef Shac Catering LLC, and The Sensory Experience. With over 36 years of culinary expertise, including 15 years as a professional chef, Chef Shac's foundation of love and compassion stems from the matriarchs of her family. Her mission is to empower her community through food.
Chef Shac is a passionate advocate for the history and benefits of food, as well as the challenges local farmers and food desert communities face. She is dedicated to educating individuals and communities to take control of their relationship with food to improve their health, wealth, and overall well-being. Her extensive career has allowed her to lend her culinary expertise to universities, governments, corporations, politicians, celebrities, athletes, and, most recently, as a culinary instructor for AMI Kids in Tallahassee.
Notably, Chef Shac emerged victorious on Food Network’s Chopped, competing against top chefs and claiming the title of Champion. She has also appeared on The Great Soul Food Cook-Off and Chopped Champions. As a sought-after consultant, she has designed meal and food planning programs for Olympic athletes who competed in the 2016 Games in Brazil.
Chef Shac’s journey has not been without its struggles. Overcoming homelessness and hardship, she catered out of her hotel room at one point, determined to succeed. “I wanted to win for African American female chefs who believed in me and supported me for many years,” she said, reflecting on her triumph.
Chef Shac's is set to release her new book Henry Lee Grandgirl The Art of Concocting in early January 2025.
